Mission Opportunities

BEAR CREEK CHRISTIAN CHURCH has many opportunities for giving towards mission - some are ongoing and others are special events.

The Elders Fund

Through the Elders Fund, the Elders of BCCC seek to assist with urgent needs (for example, health, welfare, emergencies, crisis situations, transportation). You can read about how this Fund is maintained and dispersed HERE. Apply for a grant HERE.

Family Promise/IHN Week

Several times a year, BCCC works in conjunction with Family Promise/IHN to provide housing for homeless families at the church.  BCCC volunteers fill a variety of roles: hosting, cooking, cleaning, and visiting with families working towards independence. Financial contributions are always welcome.

Midland Elementary School

Midland Elementary School which is very near, geographically, to us. They welcome our participation with them in helping educate kids and care for families. Our first project with them is the purchase of 100 headphones for the children to use with their adaptive devices. These were not provided, and many families could not purchase them. We will also continue our Hat and Mitten tree at Advent time with these items going to the school.

The school has told us they would welcome volunteers to come and read with children on a regular basis, and we will be advocating for that.

Second Sunday Noisy Offering

On the second Sunday of every month, BCCC receives a "Noisy Offering" for mission. Each month we choose one of our mission partners to feature, and our children collect change (and bills!) from the congregation during worship.

Church Volunteers

We are looking for people to assist in the office and/or in the church with light custodial work. If you have questions or interest in helping out, please contact Ministry Assistant.

Collection Bins/In-Kind Giving

Everyone is welcome to bring in-kind gifts of clothing, non-perishable foods, diapers, hygiene supplies, new toys, etc., to the collection bins in the Fellowship Hall. There are bins for the Tennyson Center, IHN/Family Promise, Midland Elementary School. Donations are received year-round.
