Children & Youth

Our goal for children is to help them know, without any doubt that God loves them. We also seek to help children build positive relationships with each other and with adults who can nurture a healthy faith that will grow throughout their lives. If you have questions about our Children's programs, you may contact our office.

Children's Worship & Wonder

Children, ages 3-8 yrs, need to check in with staff at 10am (runs through the end of worship service, ending approx. 11:20am)

We’re delighted to announce that we will begin using Worship and Wonder in Children’s Church this fall. This liturgical approach helps children experience the stories of God in a sacred space, and encourages worship through storytelling, wondering, and response.

Children's Sunday School

Children ages 3-8 yrs (9-9:45) downstairs, held during our Sunday School timeframe for adults

Nursery

Children through the age of 3 should meet our nursery staff near the rear door to the lower level before service begins, Nursery and child care are provided from 8:55-11:45 A.M. for infants and children through age 3. Children in the nursery receive excellent care and have an age-appropriate curriculum of color, music, and play that teaches them about God’s great love for them  (no drop-offs before 8:55am).

Youth Opportunities

Our Youth Ministry Team, works together to plan activities and is dedicated to building positive relationships with youth (grades 6-12), while helping them grow in their knowledge and faith. At this age, many young people are asking hard questions. Rather than provide them with easy answers, we seek to provide a strong foundation of faith, where every youth knows that God loves them without fail. We encourage them to find answers for themselves through Bible study, prayer, and by being in community with other Christians.

For more information about the youth please contact Youth & Family Pastor, Laura Hatler.

Youth Sunday School

Sunday School for Youth is from 9:00 A.M. to 9:45 A.M. Teachers will gather youth in the Fellowship Hall, then go downstairs to the Youth lounge. Through Bible study, discussion, fun activities, and service projects, we seek to encourage our youth to learn and question what God is calling them to do in their lives.

Youth Group

During the school year, Youth meet after church on the first Sunday of the month to have lunch together and do a mission project.

Lighthouse

During the school year, from 6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. on Tuesdays, we meet in the Youth Lounge and have unstructured (but supervised) time together. Youth may work on homework, play games, or just hang out!

Youth G.E.T. Out

Youth G.E.T Out is the first Friday of the month during the school year, from 6:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. This group participates in fun events including community building activities, outings, and mission activities!

Youth Trips

The youth group also takes several short day and weekend trips throughout the year. These vary, but usually include a winter day trip to go tubing/sledding, a summer day trip to Water World, and a summer weekend camping trip.

Camps & Retreats

Several times a year, FCC youth are invited to gather with other youth in the Central Rocky Mountain Region (Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Northern New Mexico, and Southeastern Idaho). Camp is not just a fun time with friends, but can also be a life-changing experience that helps youth build a foundation of faith that lasts the rest of their lives.  FCC is committed to helping children and youth attend camps and retreats, and will pay half the cost for every child who wants to attend. You can read more about camps on our Region's Website.

Chi Rho Camp (completed grades 6-8) This is a week-long camp opportunity for middle school-aged youth.
